Research and Planning
The song is about the artist going to the city and picking up his weed and then he gets mugged off and he has to go meet the guy again to get the rest of his weed, He is also singing about how he doesn't care if you want anything under two grams of weed because it's a waste of time for him and he also is saying that he's got the nicest weed around but he doesn't share, He also doesn't care about how much money you say you have.
Alex Mallett
Alex Mallett was on the X-factor 2017 and his brother Leon Mallett got through to the Judges houses.
As you can see from the screenshots above show that Alex always dresses pretty causal in all of the videos i could find of him.
I could only find one music video with the artist Alex Mallett in, in this video Alex is dressed in causal clothing and he is moving chilled out and it seems like a down to earth and they are just singing to the camera there isn't really a narrative to the video.
I actually know Alex personalty so I asked him a couple of questions below.
How do you want to be perceived by your audience? What's your inspiration for writing music?
"I wanna be perceived as a RnB/hip-hop rapper and singer and my inspiration for writing music is because my family have always written their own music and I just really enjoy it."

Styles, Conventions & Techniques
In-concert and 'as live' footage
Narrative and interpretive
Surrealist/absurdist
Impressionist
This music video is a really good example because they use soft lights and the sparks of light to show the artists emotions, this gives the video a really arty feel to the video and makes it interesting to watch.
Intertextual: Synergy, Allusion, Pastiche, Parody and Homeage
This type of music video reference other subject Eg. Films, news and Tv Programs. I think the target audience for this type of music video is people that like to pick out all the references that have been made through the music video to see how many the can pick out.
This is a very good example because it has four or maybe even more references throughout the whole music video, the references I found are Batman, A TV show in America that got shut down for electric shocking people, Elvis Presley eating a sandwich on the toilet and Osama bin Laden.
Animation (stop motion, digital)
This type of music videos can be totally different because there is lots of different types of animation this means that the target audience and basically be anyone that enjoys animation.
LIP-SYNCH-miming and playback
This type of music video makes it look like the artist is singing in the video, I think the target audience for this type of music videos is people that like to watch the artist singing so that they can see what their face expressions look like when they say the words of the song.
This is a very good example of a lip syncing music video because it's very well done so it looks like the artist is acutely singing through out the whole video.
EDITING
Cutting to the beat
Post-production effects
This type of music videos use special effects to make the video look more impressive for the viewer, I think the target audience for this type of music is people that like to see cool and creative things inside a music video.
Example of particular effect: split screen
Example of particular effect: chroma key
This type of music video uses a green screen or blue screen to make them look like they are in a different place. The target audience what this type of video is the people that like to watch their artists be in weird and cool locations.
Camera movements
This music video is a really good example of camera movements because the camera is constantly moving all the way through the video. At the start of the video they are using pan/crab shots to show the artists moving around with the people on quad bikes. They also use following shots to follow the quad bikes using a drone.
Camera angles and shot types
This is a really good example of this type of music video because they use handheld shots to make it feel a lot more personal to draw you into their story and close ups to show emotion.
Mise-en-scene
Mise-en-scene in a music is everything from small objects in the back of the video from bigger objects in perfect sight or even the type of clothing the artist is wearing, everything that is placed is for a reason for the audience to see.
This type of music video shows what the band/artist is like
live eg. concert, these types of music videos are aimed at the people that
can't go to see them so it shows them what it would be like to see them live,
this video could also be used to sell tickets because if someone saw this video
it might make them want to go see them live.
This a really good example of a live performance because throughout
the whole video they keep on showing the reaction on the audience that is
watching them, they also show the police trying to shut down the concert. The
lip sinking and all the band equipment makes the view watching the video feel
like we are actually there.
This type of music video tells a story, this type of music
is used to keep the audience watching because they want to see what happens throughout
the whole video. The story that the music video is normal relevant to the
lyrical to the song but sometimes the story can be totally irrelevant to the
song, Artist will use this type of music video to help tell their story what
they are singing about or a totally different story from what they are actually
singing about.
This music video is really good example because the music
video is showing life changing events that match the lyrics of the song
'Wasn't expecting that', from having a baby to death. I think this music
video really helps by telling the story of the lyrics.
This type of music video is a bit different because the
videos are normal a bit random and the video doesn't really relate too
many of the lyrics. I think this aims at audience of people that want to find
out why all the weird things in the video are happening so they keep on
watching. Music videos like this can show the weird side of the artist because
of all the random stuff going on.
This is music video is a good example of this because there
is just random stuff going on in the video like him smashing up his room and
kissing his teacher which has got nothing to do with the song or lyrics, this
video will keep people watching because it's just totally random and funny
events happy throughout like him kissing his teacher.
Impressionist
This type of music videos are normal more artistic because
they capture an emotional tone of the artist without using lyrics by using
video art they do this by different flowing colours and soft lighting in the
music video. I think the audience for this type of music video is are in to
artistic videos.
Intertextual: Synergy, Allusion, Pastiche, Parody and Homeage
This type of music video reference other subject Eg. Films, news and Tv Programs. I think the target audience for this type of music video is people that like to pick out all the references that have been made through the music video to see how many the can pick out.

Animation (stop motion, digital)
This type of music videos can be totally different because there is lots of different types of animation this means that the target audience and basically be anyone that enjoys animation.
This is a good an example of an animated music video because
the music video is an animation of the artist which acutely looks
like him but made it look like he's in a 2D pixelated game smoking a
cigar.
This type of music video changes shot to the beat, this
makes it interesting for the audience to watch because of the shot
changing to the beat to kind of makes you feel a part of the music video
because of what you see when the shot changes.
This music video is a good an example of cutting to the beat
because throughout the whole video it's constantly changing shot to the beat, I
think this really makes the video flow.
This type of music videos use special effects to make the video look more impressive for the viewer, I think the target audience for this type of music is people that like to see cool and creative things inside a music video.
As you can see from the screenshots above this video is a perfect
example of post-production effects. There many post production
effects used in this video from colour changes to people’s heads getting
smaller and bigger to seeing triple of someone.
Example of particular effect: split screen
This type of music video effect is pretty cool and different
because you can see more than one shot at once this means that you could tell
two different stories at once or show two or more different shots showing the
same thing. The target audience for this would be the people that like to watch
multiple shots at once.
This music video is a really good example of a
split screen music video because throughout the music video there is
split screen effect, some of the split screen in this music video are
showing the same place but from different angles at once.
Example of particular effect: chroma key
This type of music video uses a green screen or blue screen to make them look like they are in a different place. The target audience what this type of video is the people that like to watch their artists be in weird and cool locations.
As you can see from the screenshots above this music is an excellent
example of chorma key, through the whole video the artist has made him look
likes he's tripping on drugs by using a green or blue screen.
Camera movements
There are lots of different camera movements Eg.
Using pans, tracking shots, tilts and crab shots to show movement by using
these shots you can create a flow to the music video, this makes it's a
lot more interesting for the audience to watch.
This music video is a really good example of camera movements because the camera is constantly moving all the way through the video. At the start of the video they are using pan/crab shots to show the artists moving around with the people on quad bikes. They also use following shots to follow the quad bikes using a drone.
Camera angles and shot types
By using various shots lengths and angles to create you can
make meaning tone and make it feel more personal to the audience or even make
it feel like you’re pushing the audience away by using long shots or shots were
the audience can see much.
This is a really good example this type of music video
because the artist is singing about Audi's and basically every shot has an Audi
car in it.
