Connotations of TV news starting sequences


We often see Rushing graphics or camera movements this connotes urgency and that it's important.

Transparent objects and eyes connotes that the information is unchanged and that nothing is being hidden from you.

The world from space connotes that the information is traveling from satellite technology.




The Landmarks from cities connotes that the news is coming from everywhere from around the world.

Often we see Clocks these connote that the information is importation and just tells the viewer what the time is.

Technology and Satellites connote that they are using everything they can to bring you the news with out fail.




Beat-driven, fast-paced music, often involving brass instruments gets your attention and connotes that the information is really important. 




The male voice overs telling the news connotes power.

Newsreaders.

The newsreaders tell the news with no facial expressions because they are just telling the story not their own view on it. They are always looking straight at the camera so it looks like they are talking to us connoting an unmediated communication.

The newsreaders are always already sitting behind the desk, ready to tell the news this connotes urgency. Older males on the news connotes wisdom but older women connotes unattractiveness so they Often use younger women but older men.
