Ownership concepts

In the United Kingdom, the term "public service broadcasting" refers tobroadcasting intended for public benefit rather than to serve purely commercial interests.
All of the BBC's television and radio stations have a public serviceremit, including those that broadcast digitally.

Commercial broadcasting (also called private broadcasting) is the broadcastingof television programs and radio programming by privately owned corporate media, as opposed to state sponsorship.
A privately held company or close corporation is a business company owned neither by non-governmental organizations nor by a relatively small number of shareholders or company members which does not offer or trade its company stock (shares) to the general public on the stock market exchanges, but rather the company's.

Global Companies are companies that are based all around the world. Such as Mc Donald's.

Vertical integration the combination in one firm of two or more stages of production normally operated by separate firms.

Horizontal integration is the process of a company increasing production of goods or services at the same part of the supply chain. A company may do this via internal expansion, acquisition or merger. The process can lead to monopoly if a company captures the vast majority of the market for that product or service.
