Understand the Requirements of Working to a Brief

A brief is a set of instructions that you have to work to for a client that has given you a prject brief. A commission is something that you have been instructed to do, So if someone as commissioned you to do something it means that you have a role to do and you have to follow what they have instructed you to do. A tender brief is very how a company might advertise for a job post, the client will advertise that they want a media product and will therefore give out a vague brief of what they want. The way you respond to a brief is simple you have to follow if not your media product won't be what the client wants.

When making a E4 Esting we was given a brief with in portent rules we had to follow such as; Esting has to be exactly 10 seconds long, E4 Logo has to be included in Esting and that you have to use the music that they give to you. If I didn't follow these guide lines my Esting wouldn't be fit for purpose and they wouldn't let it go to the competition. I have put the whole E4 brief down below, that I had to work to.

The actor Megan Fox left the movie franchise 'Transformers' because she didn't want to work to the brief and she started slagging off the franchise.

When trying to negotiate a brief you have to understand that when working with a new client or you just starting off most people won’t want to listen to what your got to say but after you have worked with the same client for a while or got yourself some recognition your client might start to let you negotiate the brief/listen to what your got to say. Most of the time you will have no input in to the brief and you will just have to follow it. Sometimes you will have constraints when working to a brief, when making my E4 Esting a constraint was that I had to use the music they gave me and not any old song that I wanted to use, I could use the music for this project only if not I would be breaking the copyright law. I had another constraint which was I had to get permission to film and spray paint in the abounded house. There was a number to ring about the abounded house on the way in. So i called it up and asks for the owners permission, he said it was fine. Normal we have to get location release but the person who owns the property didn't want to sign one because he thought it was to a official and he lived very far away but he gave me permission on the phone on the 3 November 2017 at 12:04 pm.  I didn't have to change my final product because of the brief because I made sure I made it right the first time but I did have to clean up my animation to make it look smoother. They might be amendments to budget the media project so that there isn't too much money spend on the project.

Someone would respond to a brief to a brief because it might be there job to, they could even get experience or even a job from it. From following a brief you have opportunities for self-improvement within the creative media area, you could learn about copyright and stuff that you have to work around. From making an E4 Esting I learnt how to follow brief what made learn that you can’t always make a media product how you want it to look, you have to make for how the client wants it. When making my Esting I had to multi-skill I had to move the spray can around, spray the E4 logo and take the pictures of the animation. I didn't make any contributions to the brief because I couldn't it was a competition but I could be as creative as I like with what happened in my animation Eg. Narrative, characters and how the E4 logo was creative. So if I didn't work to the brief my Esting wouldn't be acceptable for the competition. After discussing my idea with my teacher Ellie I didn't have to change anythingI i just had to get permission to film and spray paint in the house.
